Wow. What a weekend! On Thursday the 3rd I spun over at Fireworks 2. The party was in a warehouse in Downtown LA. Beforew we left to go there, Merlyn Martin came over and we finished out a track that he and I started on. Got it done and then went over to the venue. The warehouse was dope. Great sound. Good vibes. When I got there Jason Splat was on and putting it down to the crowd. I then went on after from like 10:30 to 11:30. and had a great time spinning there. The vibe was just off the hook. After my set, went home and relaxed.
The next day went over to my aunt's house for 4th of July. I had to spin at Sacrifice early so I couldn't really stay to long there. I got to Sacrifice at around 9:15 for my 9:30 set. It is at Scoreboards in Pomona/Diamond Bar. The place is a huge sports bar right next to a couple of hotels. I make my way to the security line where I am asked to take off my shoes...WTF???? I am not getting on a fucking flight here am I? Next thing you know is they will be doing body cavity searches to get into clubs. The room I was DJing was the billiards room and the sound in there was great but the AC really needed to be on. The room was amazingly hot. The people that were there got down to the music though and that is all that matters. After I was done, I hung out for a bit since Jason Blakemore needed to borrow my headphones. I left a little before midnight though. I heard some shady stuff went down at this party later but as far as I was concerned things went pretty smoothly.
The next night we went over to my father-in-law's house in OC and had some amazing BBQ and set off about 300 bucks worth of fireworks. Yeah, it is the 5th of July but who cares. I am sure his neighbors did but oh well!! After the fireworks display I headed back home for a quick nap and headed out to pick up Merlyn on my way over to DDR. The location was Pharoah's. I actually kinda like this place. Has a nice vibe to it. When I got there the Decibel Brothers were rocking the remixes. I then got on the decks and played a hour of tech house for the people. The crowd seemed to enjoy it. I recorded the set and if you want to hear it just click here. After hanging out after my set for a bit with Paul Ahi and Greg from the Decibel Brothers I decided to get home and try and get some sleep. Next day, went to go see Hancock and pretty much just chill out. Nice way to end a long weekend.
