JuJuBeats and Kosmic Festival

Last weekend on August 16th I was lucky enough to play at both JuJuBeats and Kosmic Festival. I have been excited about this weekend for a while as both parties had great line-ups and good promotion. JuJuBeats was at Oak Canyon Ranch in Orange County. This spot has been used very few times in the past and is a beautiful outdoor location. I got there around 6:00 PM for my 6:15 slot. I spun in the second area and was greeted by a nice crowd. Although it was still early, there seemed to be the most people in the area I was in. I got on and played for a hour. You can download the set in the media section of this site if you wanna check it out. I also have to point out that the production of this event was amazing. The props and visuals were top notch. Here is a pic of some of the giant flowers near the stage.

After my set, Dyloot got on and did a great job of picking it up and making things a bit more trancey. I hung out for a while and got a little tipsy in the VIP area. (OK OK...yeah I was drunk) and left at around 10:30. The set I liked the most that I heard was by Gene Farris. He played some amazing tracks and also brought it back with one of my favorites, "French Kiss" by Lil Louis. Such a great song. Thankfully, Tony Gamboa was with me and since I was sloppy drunk, he drove my ass home. I got home, slept for a few hours to sober up and made my way over to Kosmic Festival over at The Hudson. The place was packed. I walked in and made my way for main room. This is what it looked like:

Yeah, pretty fucking nuts. The UFO over the middle of the dance floor was a great touch. There were plenty of other eye candy on stage as well with props galore. I met Paul Ahi there at 3:45 for our hour and half tag team set. I have to say, it was good time. The crowd was super responsive and the vibe was super thick. We tagged teamed some electro and progressive house and keep it going for Anthera to follow us with some Trance to close out the night. All in all a very great night...although a bit exhausting.
