Radiohead at The Hollywood Bowl

Wow. What a night. First of all I love going to the Hollywood Bowl. I have seen some great shows there. From Arcarde Fire to The Cure, from R.E.M. to Coldplay, The Bowl is hands down my favorite outdoor concert venue. So when tickets went on sale in April for Radiohead at The Hollywood Bowl, I just knew I had to go. I was lucky enough to get pre-sale tickets for the show on August 23rd and scored some great seats for just the general price. We took the shuttle down from the LA Zoo with Rich (Merlyn Martin) and his wife Marisa. We brought a couple of bottles of wine (that we polished off before we went into the venue). We got to our seats and feverishly anticipated the show to begin. From the minute that they started their set with "15 Steps" to when the closed the show with "Everything In It's Right Place" I was on my feet. I was dancing, singing, looking to the sky, feeling the vibe. I was just lost in the music. Every song I knew. Every song I loved. When I heard the live version of "The Gloaming" I couldn't help but to shake my ass to the sub bass. When I heard "Exit Music (For A Film)" it took me back to 1997 to when I first heard that song and shivered at its intensity. When I heard "How to Disappear Completely" it reminded me of going to sleep since that song is in my "sleep" playlist that I play every night. Holding my wife, like it was in bed, feeling almost alone but with thousands of people. It was magic. And that magic is the music...and it reminds me....why I exist and why I do what I do. Thank you for a amazing night Radiohead. Looking forward to next time.
