Laffit Rivas and I - Live at Underground Tuesdays (07/04/17)

After 2 nights in the Palm Springs area, the wife and I headed over to Phoenix where I was set to DJ at Underground Tuesdays with my friend Laffit Rivas. It was nice to be in Arizona, it has been a while since I DJed there and a good friend of mine from High School who I used to DJ with way back in the day, Pete "Dr. Jeckyll" Lopez made an appearance to have a drink with an old friend. When I got on the decks the last DJ played a track with a wicked acid line on it so I looped it, dropped out the highs and lows and kept it in my track while I filtered and effected it. I gotta say, I like the way that came out. Laffit and I played 3 songs each and switched. It is a solid mix of techno and tech house. Hope you enjoy.

Live at Tropical Pool Party at Contact (07/02/17)

This was a fun event. My wife and I took this weekend off to go spend time with our friends Ron D. Core and his wife Helen celebrate their 20 years of marriage in Palm Springs. Our first day there I arranged to play at the Tropical Pool Party in Desert Hot Springs at Contact. Contact is a 3 day art and music festival thrown by Alien Events and this party was really a party in a party. I got there during Mark E. Quark's set and he was playing some great spaced out disco house set and I played after him. I started off at 118 bpm. This is pretty slow for me but it worked perfectly for the vibe and tone of the event. I slowly got it up to 120 and kept it steady from there. The vibe was perfect and I really tried to keep my set tuned into those vibes. Hope you enjoy this set. It's perfect for your Sunday :)

Live at Fungus Humungous (06/24/17)

Another magical moment in the desert at sunrise. I again got there about 20 min before my 7:00 am set. Some wicked psy trance was being played at that time. I tried to follow up by playing a more progressive and melodic sound that to me is perfect for sunrise in the desert. Since I had a 2 hour set it allowed me to stretch out and go in different directions musically. It was getting hot out there really quick so as soon as my set was done I headed back into the relative coolness of the city. Hope you enjoy the set.

Live at Dunez (06/03/17)

The Mojave Desert is a magical place. Many nights and more mornings, I have spent in the desert listening and playing music. There is something special about those moments. Those of you that have experienced the SoCal Desert Rave scene know of what I write about. This year at Dunez was no exception. I made may way out to the desert around 5am to get there in time for 7am set. As per usual I arrived about 15-20 minutes before my set and dropped my set as the sun rose behind me. It was one of those perfect moments. The kind you wished would just last a little bit longer. After my set I hung out a little bit and ran into the same friends I always run into during these desert mornings. It was a good one.

Live at STAND (05/27/17)

This was a fun night / morning. Well I didn't get there until about 4:30 am since I was closing out the event from 5:00 to 6:00 am. I wish I would have got there earlier because this felt like that old school early 90's warehouse rave in Downtown LA that I grew up on. The vibe was off the hook. The best part of this set for me, was the sun peaking through the warehouse windows. It brought me back to those moments in my youth, where the night turned into a new day and you left the warehouse with the sun up and a night full of memories. Since it was an old school kind of event and the crowd was more my age, I played a little bit all over the place. Old School House with a little Freestyle along with some new stuff.

By the way... STAND stands for Still Together All Night Dancing. Yes...yes we still are.
